The first Joint Management Committee (JMC) meeting for the development and production project of the Band-e Karkheh oil field was held on Saturday (June 20th) at the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) building, with representatives from the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and OGDC in attendance.
The meeting, which was organized with the aim of accelerating the execution process and aligning the technical strategies between the client and the project executor, was attended by a group of senior managers from OGDC and stakeholders involved in the project. The committee members reviewed the latest progress of the project, evaluated the operational measures taken, and assessed the short-term and medium-term development plans for this key oil field in Khuzestan province.
Mokhtar Rajabi, the manager of the Band-e Karkheh oil field development and production project, while providing a report on the reservoir characteristics and production potential of this field, stated: "The initial goal of the project is to reach a daily production capacity of 2,500 barrels of crude oil in the first phase, and based on the approved schedule, the production horizon of this field will reach 18,000 barrels per day by the end of the development period."
Furthermore, Rajabi elaborated on the executive strategies and development steps of the project within the defined timeframes for the committee members and provided a report on the latest field and engineering activities conducted in the course of project implementation.
At the conclusion of this meeting, based on the technical assessments performed, the committee members emphasized the continuation of operational coordination and the acceleration of removing executive barriers to the project. The development and production of the Band-e Karkheh field, as one of the key projects in the country's crude oil production increase chain, plays a pivotal role in the optimal utilization of domestic engineering capabilities and the attraction of investment in the upstream sector.
